Bonk At Primal Quest >    >   >  > >> Show me

In the future I would like to build this out into a 3-part work. This would be the middle section where a very talented and strong adventure athlete bonks in a big way. Research since this event indicates that the cause of the bonk was almost entirely due to a severe lack of glucose. Glucose is apparently the only fuel the brain can use for energy. (This is in contrast to muscles that burn either sugar or fat compounds... ...I don't know - I'm not a doctor - check it out for yourself.) Of course the real question is why did it perpetuate to this level? I was with this team before and quite a bit during the race. It has become my strong belief that this team could have placed top 5 with a good team dynamic. So, back to where I started. This would be part 2 of a 3-part series on how a bad team dynamic can break great athletes.
