Jerry, Luke, and I find a map with reference to "ruins" and go on a cross-country boys-just-being-boys trip. Along the way we find a very old grave. It was a stacked pile of rocks with the upright beam of a cross and a rusted flask tucked in a niche. You could almost see a guy standing over the fresh grave, taking a swallow of whiskey, tucking the flask in the rocks for his dead friend, and riding off into that compulsory western sunset. We also find the ruins, some pottery, push rocks, and have a great fire. I edited the footage into many short individual clips and titled each in the style of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. It all got wrapped together into a composition I am not entirely sure I like. I used many different styles and experimented with a few new techniques. Maybe you will like it.
